On behalf of the Secretariat of forum for children, I would like to extend a
special invitation to you and your organization to participate in the upcoming
Shanghai International Forum for Children held in Shanghai, China, 19-21
September, 2007, the theme of which is Child Rights Protection and Social
Responsibilities.
Children are the future of human beings and their healthy growth is the
common issue for the whole world. A healthy and fair legal environment is
crucial to create a favorable living environment for our children. Our forum,
which is convened every two years, provides a platform, on which experts from
home and abroad could exchange research findings and put forward different
policies proposals. The former five forums focusing educational environment,
public policies and social development, respectively, have produced active
suggestions and memorandums which helped to create a sound international
communication network.
This year’s forum will discuss the issues of legal protection of children in
modern society and responsibilities our society shall bear, such as the
perfection of laws and regulations on children; the judicial protection of
children and juvenile crime and delinquency; the coordination and consolidation
of international convention on the rights and interests of children and domestic
laws and the participation of children in the legislation and judicatories.
We sincerely hope you will join us in the Forum to share your perspectives
and experiences. Let’s work together to protect children’s rights and interests
and create a just and fair legal environment. We eagerly look forward to your
